Finally, you can avoid some negative traits by training your Labrador Retriever to respect you and by following the 11-step care program in my book, 11 Things You Must Do Right To Keep Your Dog Healthy and Happy.
Some Labs like to get to know new people before becoming their friend. So as your dog grows up, be sure to take him lots of places. Socializing your pup from an early age will help him become comfortable wherever he goes.
Whether you’re planning to get your new best friend from a breeder, a pet store, or another source, don’t forget that old adage “let the buyer beware”. Disreputable breeders and facilities that deal with puppy mills can be hard to distinguish from reliable operations. There’s no 100% guaranteed way to make sure you’ll never purchase a sick puppy, but researching the breed (so you know what to expect), checking out the facility (to identify unhealthy conditions or sick animals), and asking the right questions can reduce the chances of heading into a disastrous situation. And don’t forget to ask your veterinarian, who can often refer you to a reputable breeder, breed rescue organization, or other reliable source for healthy puppies.
ORIGINAL SOURCE Great for Framing, adding to a collection or scrap book, or as part of a breed research project. CONDITION: GOOD: Centre image clean and bright. There may be some slight age marking creasing and wear to the outer edges as might be expected with an item of this age.

The only knock I give this is – As a group, the labs are not the best looking labs I’ve seen. My labs are much better looking than many of these. I’m just saying their are a lot of great looking labs. The guys at Brown Trout could have selected better looking dogs. Some of the labs in the calendar are special, others are not.
From its humble origins as a fishing dog in Newfoundland (no, not Labrador!) in the 1700s to rising in popularity as a hunting breed in England in the 1800s to today’s lovable companion, the Labrador retriever is one awesome dog.

Love exercise? So does your Labrador retriever. Labs are known to be high-energy dogs that can keep going…and going…and going. In fact, it’s important to watch your dog for overheating or exhaustion as Labs are not the best at knowing when to quit. But if you’re looking for a daily partner who loves to run and play as much as you do, you can’t pick a better dog than the Labrador retriever.
I am thinking very seriously about adopting a female Golden Labrador retriever this coming September, she will be bought as a puppy so I can have longer with her , This will be my first experience with owning a dog of my own although not the only time In my life I’ve looked after a dog.
I’m joking, of course – my dog is dead – but if you’re going to spend an enormous sum of money on a purebred dog when there are plenty of beautiful bitser-everythings in need of homes, you might as well get a flashy one that no one’s ever heard of.
If you have not been given any food or any information on how to feed a puppy then I suggest you call in to your local pet store and buy a small sack of (kibble) puppy food that is appropriate for his breed and age.
